History of Our Flight Training Base Kaposujlak Airport
As early as 1929, the citizens of Kaposvár had a need to establish an airport around the city, and a suitable terrain was finally found on the border of Zselickislak. Two school planes were purchased, which cost 1,600 pengos, and the glider training could be started with the considerable financial expense of the locals and the city. A hangar was also built, and one of the local carpenters was trained in Budapest to repair the machines. He took the exam in Kaposvár in 1930 in the person of the first Hungarian glider, Abaffy Genoveva.
