1. Airmate

Sometimes the less is more and Airmate fits this perfectly. While it is free to download and use it also provides a community that pilots can share their experience in the application. Also METAR, TAF and SIGMET can be accessed via Airmate. Even though it is free to use it provides cross platform use too. You can plan your flight in your PC and use the same flight plan on your iPhone, iPad, Android phones or tablets. It may look odd by the means of graphics but don’t forget this is a free application.

2. SkyDemon

Just like ForeFlight or Airmate you can use SkyDemon in order to create or edit your flight plans. SkyDemon provides in-flight navigation as well as flight plan creating. This means you can follow and inspect the deviations from your planned route while flying. Improved visualization of the VFR charts and your own created flight plan will get you faster while correcting your mistakes during flight.
