What is Private Pilot licence (PPL(A)) flight training?

Private Pilot License – EASA PPL (A) is a qualification that allows the holder to fly on single engine piston (SEP) aircraft in visual meteorological conditions (VMC) as pilot in command (PIC) or co-pilot on aircraft in noncommercial operations without remuneration. Private Pilot Licence (PPL(A)) flight training is the first step towards becoming a professional pilot and designed for applicants with 0 flight experience.

Benefits of Noir Flight School’s Flight Training

  • Flexible Flight Schedule
  • Airline Oriented Training
  • Pay as you fly option
  • Best affordable training
  • Experienced flight instructors

There are two main flight training routes to become a commercial pilot. They are integrated flight training and modular flight training. Ultimately both flight training programs result in the issuance of the same pilot license, so it is just a matter of preference. Choosing the right pilot training option can be confusing, so we will talk about both of the pilot licence options and differences between them.

At first lets talk about Integrated Flight Training.

On this flight training, one continuous program takes you from zero flight experience to obtaining a commercial pilot license (we commonly refer as frozen ATPL) in flight school. All the flight training is delivered by one flight school. When the flight training program starts, you must comply with the published program. You commence with the ATPL theory (check our ATPL Distance Learning Course)  as the first step and complete all 14 EASA subjects before you get to start flying any aircraft. You don’t take any Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) skill tests. Instead, you complete several progress tests during your flight training. Total flight time in an Integrated flight training program is about 200 hours. Integrated pilot training generally takes between 20-24 months depending on weather, student progress and other external factors. Integrated pilot training is divided into certain modules. They are;
1-) ATPL Ground Exams
2-) Flight Trainings
3-) Night Flight Authority
4-) Multi Engine Authority
5-) Instrument Flight Authority
6-) Commercial Pilot License

The other training model isModular Flight Training.

Modular pilot training is designed in a step by step system to take you from zero flight experience to Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). You start with 100 hours Private Pilot License (PPL) Theory, taking the exams, doing your Private Pilot License (PPL) flying and skill test, and after that you become a Private Pilot. In the next place you have to do a combination of structured hour building to enable you to qualify for Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training, and then 14 ATPL theory subjects. After successful completion, you will do your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training and your Instrument rating (IR). The total flying time in a modular pilot training course is about 200 hours. Modular pilot training takes 12-18 months depending on student progress, weather, and other factors. Nowadays most of the pilot students prefer Modular Flight Training Route because of the time, money and flexibility. Modular flight training is traditionally cheaper than integrated flight training. You can choose where and when you complete your flight training that gives you the benefit of being able to budget appropriately, paying for you training as you go, rather than spending a large upfront sum that is required for integrated pilot courses. You can do it as quickly or slowly as you like, which gives you the opportunity to work while getting your various licenses. The hour building, required for the commercial pilot license (CPL) issue, can be completed in other countries.
